بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Consistency has always been a challenge for me, and perhaps many of you can relate. For years, I struggled to maintain regularity in different areas of my life—whether it was a new habit, a goal, or simply staying focused. A big part of that struggle came from seeking perfection. I would start something with enthusiasm, but as soon as I didn’t meet my own high standards, I would stop. Over time, this pattern left many things unfinished, and I would feel frustrated at the number of projects, goals, and intentions that were left incomplete.
A few years ago, I realized that perfection was holding me back from making real progress. I started to shift my focus from doing things perfectly to simply completing them. I told myself that it’s better to finish something imperfectly than to leave it undone. This mindset shift helped me begin to not only complete new goals but also go back and finish things I had left unfinished. That change was liberating, and alhamdulillah, it opened the door to consistency.
This newsletter, Sunday Serenity, was born from that desire to challenge myself to be a consistent writer. Today, I’m celebrating a milestone of having 202 subscribers, and I couldn’t have done it without this shift in perspective, and you all my beloved readers. Perfection was never the goal—consistency and growth were. And as I’ve stayed committed to showing up, I’ve learned that consistency is where real growth happens. Each time we try, even if we stumble, we refine, improve, and gain experience.
As I move forward, I’m excited to take on a new challenge: National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). My goal for November is to complete the first draft of my book, and insha’Allah, I’ll be writing 1,600 words a day to make that happen. I’ll be sharing parts of my book with a writing community, and I invite you to join me in watching this journey unfold. Let’s celebrate consistency together, because I truly believe that it’s in these daily efforts that we grow.

Now, I want to invite you to reflect on your own journey of consistency. Often, we focus so much on the end goal that we forget the power of the process itself. Whether you’ve been consistent with something big or small, every step forward counts. Here’s a journaling prompt for you to reflect on your growth, your achievements, and the blessings Allah has given us along the way.
Journaling Prompt: Reflecting on Growth and Gratitude
1. What is something you’ve achieved recently that you’re proud of?
Take a moment to reflect on something in your life that has required effort and consistency. It could be related to your spiritual practice, work, family, or personal development. It doesn’t have to be a huge milestone—it could be something as simple as praying your salah on time or sticking to a new habit. Write down how this achievement has impacted you, how it makes you feel, and what lessons you’ve learned in the process.
“The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small”
(Sahih Bukhari)
In addition Allah reminds us in the Quran that those who are consistent in their worship will not grieve.
2. How has consistency helped you grow in this area?
Reflect on the process itself. Think about the growth that has come not just from achieving your goal, but from the act of showing up consistently. What changes have you noticed in your mindset, your approach, or your heart? How has Allah guided you through this journey? Write about the internal transformations that have come from the effort itself, even if the goal isn’t fully reached yet.
3. What are you asking Allah to help you remain consistent with, and how can you celebrate your progress in a way that honors both this life and the next?
Our ultimate success lies in earning Paradise by the mercy of Allah, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate our victories in this life. Reflect on how you can honor the progress you’ve made in a way that keeps the akhirah in mind. How can you balance celebrating your achievements while keeping the bigger picture—our eternal home—at the forefront of your heart and mind? Make du’a for Allah to grant you steadfastness in your efforts and ask Him to guide you in celebrating with gratitude.
As we continue on this journey together, let’s always remember to thank Allah for the ability to stay consistent, whether in small ways or big. Without His guidance and mercy, none of this would be possible. I’m incredibly grateful to all of you who have been with me since the beginning. Together, we are building a community rooted in reflection, growth, and gratitude.
Here’s to celebrating our successes and persevering toward even greater ones, both in this life and the next.
Thank you so much for your love, your support and engagement. I am truly honored to share my thoughts with you my beloved readers.
