You are blessed!
Did you consider today how blessed you are? Let’s ponder your blessings together!
Today marks a small but profound milestone for me: I drank my first coffee with milk in over a month. It wasn’t the best-tasting coffee I’ve ever had, yet it was one of the most wonderful. Why? Because it was a blessing.
The last time I had coffee was the 22nd of December. Since then, I couldn’t eat or drink, relying instead on a PICC line to sustain me. Two days ago I have my first sip of water more than a month without. It wasn’t just water—it was a blessing I had overlooked for years until it was no longer available to me.
How often do we pause to reflect on the simple things we take for granted?
The cup of cappuccino , chai your grandmother taught you to make or favorite tea that greets you in the morning, making you feel a flurry of joy! The steady rhythm of your heartbeat.
The ability to walk, talk, and think independently. Even the struggles we endure can hold hidden blessings, shaping us in ways we cannot yet understand.
When we fail to recognize these daily gifts, we risk falling into ingratitude. Yet Allah, in His infinite mercy, reminds us of His generosity and our the Shaytan’s plan to call us misguidance:
2:268
The Devil threatens you with ˹the prospect of˺ poverty and bids you to the shameful deed ˹of stinginess˺, while Allah promises you forgiveness and ˹great˺ bounties from Him. And Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.
Today, I challenge you (and myself) to spend just five minutes reflecting on the blessings you may have overlooked. Start small. Think about the things you find mundane, or even the challenges you face, and let their value sink into your heart.
That breath you just took is a blessing. Your eyes you using to read these words are a blessing. The trial you’re navigating right now is holding a hidden gift.
Let this be more than a thought exercise. Let it saturate your heart and remind you of the uncountable favors Allah has bestowed upon you.
So I’ll end with this question from our Creator:
“Then which of the favors of your Lord will you both deny?” Repeated in Surah Ar Rahman 33 times!
Much love,
Nour Cauveren
