Thank you I am happy it benefited you. You are so right it’s a great read for men too and I hadn’t thought about that. Thank you !!!! Next week I’ll be sharing part two of my complicated relationship with food to talk about how it is going now and how Allah helped me grow! Be sure to read it and thank you for supporting this newsletter!
You're welcome. Our relationships with food is such an interesting topic. And as all relationships, the dynamic changes all the time. At times, because of extreme food sensitivities worsening eczema symptoms, most ingredients seemed like enemies of sorts lol. Some foods are "safe" while others aren't. The language we use is so fascinating. I also recall a particular instance of being forced to eat a plate full of steamed veggies and sweet potatoes iirc. Not pleasant at all haha, though I've grown to love lots of veggies, and sweet potatoes are one of my absolute favorites! I look forward to reading part two.
Reminds me of my callaloo story turned out to be my favorite 😍 your reply has given me an idea to add it to the next newsletter and so happy you now love sweet potatoes 🍠 me too! All different varieties
So many emotions tied to food! Logically, I know my body needs healthy food in moderate amounts but often, I've used food to sooth rather than sustain. It's something I'm still working on as an emotional eater, over-eater, and at times binge eater. Thank you for sharing this and the coaching questions.
Thank you so much Katie for sharing. Sneak peak I’ll be covering using food for soothing next week as that was my go to and I’ll get naked (vulnerable) about how I started to move away from that towards healthy eating. 💕 it’s been one big beautiful struggle full of tears, stomach aches from over eating to …well I’ll leave that for next Sunday 😊
You might give me the courage to share too! I've had a post drafted for a while on this topic but haven't published it. Not sure why actually. Maybe it's too raw still for me? Idk. But looking forward to reading.
Ok challenge accepted! I’ll do my best to serve you dear Katie! And for sure one thing I love is to be courageous and encourage others to be as well ❤️🥹💕
Great post. The books seem like a good read for guys too, to know what the women in our lives are going through and how best to be there for them.
